The final twenty five minutes of the first half saw Liverpool rack up the shots, chances and attempts that tested their goalkeeper. If Daniel Sturridge stands still when fractionally offside I’d be disappointed. It is a natural reaction to stick a leg out (especially as a striker), but as Lovren turned away to celebrate another headed goal in a crucial Europa League match, our name was on the cup. It lasted for a split second. About as long as our concentration lasted in the second half of the match, when Sevilla dominated throughout – creating four big chances, and securing their third Europa League triumph is as many years. A remarkable achievement.
