To a lot of Liverpool fans, the sacking of Kenny Dalglish was final confirmation that the Liverpool Way is dead. The last connection with our legendary past had gone, that mythical and mystical aura that surrounds Liverpool Football Club had finally succumbed to a new breed of football.
But what does the Liverpool Way actually mean? The fact is, it means different things to different people. It goes back to the Shankly era, where the great man recognised the need to transform the entire mentality and culture of the football club to make it the very best, to make Anfield ‘a bastion of invincibility.
