The transfer window has closed, and Liverpool’s first team squad of up to 25 players that can be used in Premier League games has been officially registered with the Premier League. There was no arrival of a much needed striker to relieve some of the burden on Torres but our options at left-back have increased with the arrival of Paul Konchesky. Mascherano has finally sealed his move to Barcelona and Porto’s Raul Meireles has arrived to add numbers in midfield. While off the field matters will soon come to a head with the impending October 6th deadline, Liverpool have seven fixtures spread over three different competitions between September 12th and October 3rd, so we will soon see if Hodgson’s wheeling and dealing (oh my!) has resulted in a Liverpool squad that can cope with a fairly hectic schedule.
