As usual, there are complications and caveats about getting to the match, and also, since it’s the late Sunday shift, getting back from it.
The first is that following extensive flooding in many parts of the north on Thursday, the railway line between here and Manchester was closed. My wife was in Manchester with a friend, her journey back was a saga in itself.
So having pre-bought the rail tickets, I find myself fretting over whether the line will be reopened by Sunday.
