When Liverpool were drawn against Porto in December, I saw it as a perfect opportunity to see my beloved Reds away in the Champions League, and to visit Portugal – both for the first time. I also have a friend who lives in Lisbon and had been meaning to visit for a while. I booked my flights in early January and then came the major hurdle of finding a ticket for the game. I put the feelers out and fortunately a friend of a friend could not make it so sold me his ticket at face value – cheers Max!
I flew to Lisbon from the UK and spent a couple of days in that lovely city. It was good to see an old friend, Richard, and to spend time in a really interesting and beautiful city. I would recommend it to anyone to visit. It’s a wonderful setting on the mouth of the Tagus and has great history, beautiful buildings, as well as good bars and restaurants.
