Usually, having slept after a poor result and looked at the underlying stats, it helps calm the frustration. Not with this one. Not after seeing three big chances, 23 shots and ten inside the Everton penalty area. Not after seeing domination on all the xG maps and models. Not after finding out we had 46 touches in their penalty box, while they had four in ours. Not after seeing Lovren give the referee a decision to make on the highlights. This was arguably the worst Everton side in the history of Everton. Limited, toothless, spineless, slow, dirty, shockingly one dimensional and a side we should be beating ten out of ten times. Of course, football does not work like that…
