Hard to know how to analyse that one. Once again the decision not to upgrade central defensive areas comes back to haunt us. Seems pointless repeating the same point over and over again though.

We now have one of the worst defensive records in the whole league, not just compared to our rivals. West Ham, Everton, Bournemouth and Swansea have a similar expected goals against record.

Basic errors on throw-ins. Basic flaws in decision-making. Inability to judge the flight of a football and head it. Yes, these may all be related to Dejan Lovren – who needs to take five tablets before every game – but he doesn’t pick himself.
