Let it never be said that being a Liverpool supporter is uneventful. With Jürgen Klopp (appendix) joining Dejan Lovren and Joe Allen on the injury list on Saturday, followed by thousands of Liverpool supporters leaving Anfield on 77 minutes as a protest over ticket prices for next season, the honeymoon period for Klopp is well and truly over. One win from our last six league games has left the Reds 12 points behind fourth placed Manchester City and all but ended any faint hopes of finishing in the top four this season. Unless you’re a supreme optimist.

Our best, and realistically only, avenue for success this campaign now lies in the cups. With a Capital One Cup final against Man City already booked for the end of this month, Liverpool face FC Augsburg in the last 32 of the Europa League, while West Ham stand between us and a place in the 5th round of the FA Cup when we travel to the Boleyn Ground on Tuesday evening for the 4th round replay; 7.45pm kick off UK time.
