Liverpool travel to Exeter on Friday evening  – 7.55pm kick off UK time – for the FA Cup third round tie at St James’ Park. Paul Tilsdale’s Exeter City are struggling in 16th place in League Two having picked up 30 points from 24 games, leaving them  22 points behind the leaders Plymouth but 13 clear of the relegation zone. Since defeating Port Vale 2-0 to secure their place in the third round, The Grecians have lost their last four league games with three of those defeats coming at home against Luton (2-3), AFC Wimbledon (0-2) and Dagenham & Redbridge (1-2).
