Liverpool face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday evening in the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final – 8pm kick off UK time – in what will be our 16th semi-final appearance in this competition. The Reds suffered a 0-2 reverse against West Ham on Saturday, while Stoke went down 1-2 at West Brom.
Liverpool recorded a 1-0 victory against Stoke at the Britannia Stadium on the opening day of the season thanks to a wonder strike from Phil Coutinho and the Reds will be hoping to continue our 100% record against the Potters on their home turf in this competition, having won all three previous meetings including an 8-0 win at the fourth round stage back in 2000.
