After beginning their 2013/14 league campaign with a pair of 1-0 wins, extending their unbeaten run to ten matches in the process, Liverpool will start their attempt to win a record ninth League Cup with a match against Notts County at Anfield. The match kicks off at 19:45 UK time, and is being shown live on Sky Sports. Liverpool have not won any of their last three League Cup matches at Anfield, so will be looking to end that run tonight.

This is the first time the two teams will have met in the League Cup, and the sides have not played each other since 1992, in the old First Division. On that occasion, goals from Thomas, McManaman, Rush and Venison sealed a 4-0 victory on the night Don Hutchison made his Reds debut.
