With Liverpool’s chances of a top four finish decreasing following the defeat against Manchester Utd at Anfield on Sunday, the trilogy of cups we can still win may take on increased significance, starting with this FA Cup third round replay against League Two side Exeter City on Wednesday evening: 8pm kick off UK time.
Liverpool’s very inexperienced and youthful side earned a deserved 2-2 draw in the first game at St James Park and the reward for the victors of the replay is a home tie against West Ham Utd in the fourth round. With a league trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich on Saturday followed by the League Cup semi-final second leg against Stoke just three days after that, Klopp may choose to field a similarly under-strength side against the Grecians.
