According to Liverpool journalist Paul Joyce, the Reds are closing in on signing Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay. The club have been tracking the 18-year-old for some time now, as a possible replacement for Neco Williams (who is expected to leave this summer) or as an understudy to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The price to get the young Scotsman is touted to be around £4m, which is a bargain considering Liverpool have placed a price tag of £15m on Williams. So if things go as planned, they can enjoy a £11m profit on selling an academy right-back to get a back-up for Alexander-Arnold (who himself is an academy product). Leeds United have also kept a close eye on him, but it seems as if Liverpool are favourites to get their man. (figures from this Times article).
