It’s fair to say Jude Bellingham has been attracting some interest of late.
The 18-year-old former Birmingham City starlet has been doing extremely well at Borussia Dortmund, not just in the Bundesliga but also in the Champions League. A Salah-esque goal has been doing the YouTube rounds. And he has impressed during his England appearances
Unsurprisingly, he has been linked with a move to Liverpool, along with other big clubs in England and Europe for some time.
Part of England’s Euro 2020 squad in the summer, Bellingham has made rapid progress as a player in the last 18 months. The midfielder has played in various positions around the central areas of the pitch, and also has plied his trade as a wide midfielder for Dortmund, or as a pseudo wing-back in a 3-4-3 formation. He is good on the ball, can play the box-to-box role, has an eye for goal and covers a lot of ground during a game.
Bellingham has scored 12 goals and assisted 14 in 109 appearances in his career so far (Dortmund and Birmingham City days added).
Below, we have a detailed scouting report on him using Wyscout, FBref percentile report and Understat comparative plots. Then we will consider whether he could potentially fit in the Liverpool system, if the Reds were to manage to sign him any time soon.
