When Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Liverpool against Watford a week ago at Vicarage Road, it was his 100th Premier League goal, a milestone which took him 238 appearances to reach. He is the third African behind Mohamed Salah and Didier Drogba to get to the century mark, making him one of the best goal-scorers from that continent in the Premier League, and also only the third player to reach this landmark without having any penalty goal to his name – as if reaching his century wasn’t enough, all of them being non-penalty goals adds an extra dimension to his achievement. The Senegalese is also the 31st player in all in the Premier League (1992 onwards) to reach this milestone.
Out of his 100 league goals, 79 have been for Liverpool and some have been pivotal in the club’s league-winning season (2019/20). For this article, we focus on his goals from his Liverpool days to date. Let’s have a look at the related metrics and get some analysis done.
