What a marvellous 18 months Kalvin Phillips has had for club and country. He got promoted to the Premier League with Leeds United in June 2020, had a fantastic first season in the top-flight and ended it with being a key cog in the England midfielder during their run to the Euros final.
The 26-year-old is a Leeds United product through and through, having made a senior debut for them in the 2014/15 season, and started playing regular football 2016/17 onwards. He has featured in 226 games for the West Yorkshire side, scoring 14 goals and assisting 13 while playing as a defensive midfielder on most occasions.
The result of Phillips’ consistency at the top level has led to him being linked to quite a few clubs in the Premier League, including Liverpool, hence this scout report, looking at his performance in numbers and adding context behind it. We will also try and figure out how the Reds manager Jürgen Klopp might make use of him.
