Just days after Norwich City rejected a £10m offer from the Premier League champions for left-back Jamal Lewis – apparently, the Norwich man came back from his holidays to complete his dream move to Anfield – the Reds have signed Olympiakos left-back and Greece international Kostas Tsimikas for a fee around £11.7m on a five-year deal. The player is expected to earn wages around £40,000-per-week, with possible bonuses based on the performances.
Since Liverpool had others options at their disposal, and having scouted Tsimikas for the past three seasons now, they were able to swiftly move on with the negotiations and sign the 24-year-old. The club also had Real Madrid’s on loan Sevilla left-back Sergio Reguilon in their sights, if required.
