Liverpool’s final away game of 2014 is a trip to Turf Moor where Sean Dyche’s Burnley await on Boxing Day; 3pm kick off UK time.  Our away record in the Premier League this season reads won three, drawn none and lost five, with 12 goals scored and 16 conceded and just the solitary clean sheet. For the calendar year it’s a more impressive ten wins, two draws and five defeats, with 41 goals scored and 31 conceded, with three clean sheets.

Steven-Gerrard-006Our last two performances give us some hope that we are returning to the kind of football that brought us that incredible 11 game winning streak from last season. While it’s unlikely that we will string together another 11 wins in a row, if we continue to play the kind of football that we did against Bournemouth and Arsenal on a more consistent basis, we will surely begin to climb our way back up the table and put some pressure on the teams above us. We secured a brace of 4-0 wins over Burnley during the 2009/1o season with Steven Gerrard (2), Maxi and Babel sealing Burnley’s relegation at Turf Moor.
