Liverpool return to Premier League action with the small matter of a trip to Old Trafford on Saturday evening – 5.30pm kick off UK time – and with the 0-3 home reverse to West Ham still fresh in the mind, a performance more akin to what was produced in the 0-0 draw at Arsenal would go some way to restoring some confidence in both the team and supporters.
Both sides started the season in similar fashion with two consecutive 1-0 wins then drawing their third league game 0-0 (Liverpool at Arsenal and Man Utd at home to Newcastle), before suffering a defeat with Liverpool going down 0-3 at home to West Ham, with Man Utd losing 1-2 at Swansea. Despite that both sides are just two points behind second placed Crystal Palace while table toppers Manchester City have been flawless winning all four of their Premier League games without conceding a goal.
