Our 1-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday was our first league victory in four attempts, ending a run of three consecutive defeats and it was just third the third time in the Premier League this season that we’ve prevented the opposition from scoring against us. Next up for the Reds is a trip to King Power Stadium to face Nigel Pearson’s Leicester City on Tuesday evening; 7.45pm kick off UK time.
The Foxes scored their first goals in 504 minutes of football in the 2-3 defeat away to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday and prop up the table having picked up 10 points from a possible 39. Their back to back victories over Stoke away (1-0) and Manchester Utd at home (5-3) in September are their only league victories this season giving them a record of two wins, four draws and seven defeats.
Liverpool need to improve their record on the road as we are currently ranked 13th based on our away form this season, having won twice (3-0 at Spurs and 3-2 at Q.P.R.) and lost four (1-3 at Man City, 1-3 at West Ham, 0-1 at Newcastle and 1-3 at Crystal Palace). Leicester are ranked 12th based on their home record with one victory (5-3 over Man Utd, four draws (2-2 with Everton, 1-1 with Arsenal, 2-2 with Burnley and 0-0 with Sunderland) and one defeat (0-1 to West Bromwich Albion).
