Over the last few days, some of the reputed journalists around Liverpool have reported that the club is keeping close tabs on West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen.  The 24-year-old is supposedly on the list of players the Reds could possibly sign this summer, though perhaps provisional upon them raising money through player sales.

With the likes of Marko Grujic, Harry Wilson and Taiwo Awoyini already sold on permanent deals, the club is doing well on the latter front. It’s also likely that at least one of Xherdan Shaqiri, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi will depart too. With the effects of the pandemic still likely to be troubling football clubs’ finances for some time to come, it is not easy to buy or sell players in the transfer window. So it shouldn’t be a surprise if deals take more time than usual to get across the line, even though Jürgen Klopp wants transfer activities, especially incoming transfers, to be done as early as possible.

With Liverpool still likely to be in search of another wide forward who can come in and add that extra depth of quality to the front-line, Bowen’s name has come to the fore recently. The former Hull City man, who struggled for game time after making a January move to West Ham in 2020, had a much better campaign last time around. His quality in the final third helped the Hammers in their fantastic season of finishing sixth in the Premier League table.
