Liverpool will seal their place in the knock-out stages of the Champions League with a win against Ajax on Tuesday evening, in an 8pm kick off (UK time). Even a draw would make it all but certain, as Ajax and Atalanta meet in the final group game so both cannot get the win they’d need to top Liverpool, and if Liverpool and Atalanta were to finish level on points, Liverpool have the better head-to-head record, 5-2.
With injuries continuing to mount for Liverpool, the squad is stretched to breaking point with Ajax the first of eight matches to be completed in December before the January transfer window opens.
