The biggest prize in European club football awaits Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur when the two English sides do battle in the Champions League final on Saturday – 8pm kick off UK time – with the match being held at Atlético Madrid’s new Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
This will be just the second time two English sides have contested a European Cup/Champions League final, with the first being Manchester Utd v Chelsea in 2008, which the Red Devils won on penalties. Overall, there have been six previous finals contested between sides from the same country, with Spain featuring in three (2000, 2014 & 2016), Italy one (2003) and Germany one (2013) to add to the all English affair from 2008.
