Be honest, who looks forward to this? Does the glorious prospect of Liverpool winning on our fierce rivals’ own pitch outweigh the possible nightmare of losing? No wonder both sets of supporters would probably take a draw. We could yet be returning to Old Trafford again this season in the Champions League, who knows?
After their comeback win at Palace on Monday night, Utd are two points ahead of us with eight games left to play after this one, so it won’t decide who finishes 2nd or who secures a top 4 place, though it will be talked up as such. It feels important in both respects.
The game at Old Trafford is a 12.30pm kick off UK time on Saturday, to deny the supporters too much chance to over-imbibe pre-match and further inflame the senses!
