Liverpool kick off 2018 with a trip to Burnley on Monday – 3pm kick off UK time – with Sean Dyche’s side surprising most people by being in the mix for the European places, currently sitting in 7th place with 34 points, six points clear of Leicester in 8th and three behind Arsenal in 6th, although the Gunners do have a game in hand.
Burnley left Anfield with a point back in September in a match Liverpool dominated, although both sides had chances to claim maximum points towards the end with Ben Mee seeing headers from successive corners first cleared off the line by Matip and then denied by a brilliant save from Mignolet. Dom Solanke almost won it for the Reds but his strike hit the underside of the bar in the closing stages.
