Amidst the loss of awareness of date and time that comes with what we call the festive period, I almost overlook the fact that this is that rarest of things, a Saturday 3pm kick off!
Trains pre-booked, I have inadvertently clicked ‘e-ticket’ for my journey to and from Manchester, a first for me, so there’s already a frisson of the unknown. Will my not-so-smart phone deliver come the day? Will Northern Rail’s app work better than their trains do? Am I app-‘appy? Will the battery last long enough? Will end up having to pay twice because it all doesn’t work? Too much tension … 😉
