Liverpool enter the final stretch of what has been an incredibly successful marathon season, with both domestic cups added to the trophy haul, a Champions League final still to come and the Premier League title still mathematically achievable with two league games to play.
Unless Manchester City drop points at home to Aston Villa next Sunday and Liverpool beat both the Saints and Wolves, the title will remain at the Etihad and the quadruple – and a domestic treble – will have gone. But what has been achieved this season already has exceeded all realistic expectations no matter what happens between now and the remainder of the season.
