As we hurtle towards the half-way point of the season, the shadow of the Omicron variant looms large with half of the scheduled Premier League matches due to take place this weekend being postponed.
Tottenham haven’t played a competitive match in two weeks following a confirmed COVID outbreak in their squad which resulted in their Europa League match with Rennes and league meeting with Brighton being postponed. This combined with an outbreak in Leicester’s squad, forced the postponing of their Premier League clash on Thursday evening.
Unless Liverpool report a rise in potential infections, Sunday’s trip to the North London is likely to go ahead despite Fabinho, Curtis Jones and van Dijk all suspected of being infected.
