Liverpool are back in Champions League action with a trip to Spain to face reigning La Liga champions Atlético Madrid on Tuesday evening. Diego Simeone’s side enjoyed some extra preparation time for Liverpool’s visit, following their fixture with Grenada being postponed – along with Real Madrid v Athletic Bilbao – by the Spanish Superior Sports Council, on the grounds that their South American players would not be available due to their late return from international duty.
A stark contrast to how Watford and the Premier League dealt with Liverpool’s request to change the kick-off time to Saturday evening- not postpone the game – for the same reason, which backfired on Watford who suffered a 5-0 hammering on Saturday.
