Liverpool’s first competitive fixture at Anfield of the new season is against the team that ended our long un-beaten home record during last season’s campaign: Sean Dyche’s Burnley.
That 0-1 defeat last season commenced a run of six consecutive defeats at Anfield in the Premier League for the Reds, with Brighton, Man City, Everton, Chelsea and Fulham all leaving L4 with maximum points. Liverpool failed to score in five of those six defeats but they ended the campaign winning their final three home games to secure a 3rd place finish.
