Liverpool travel to Catalonia to face Barcelona on Wednesday evening – 8pm kick off UK time – where two of Europe’s greatest names meet for a place in the final on June 1st in Madrid at stake, where Ajax or Tottenham will await at Atletico’s new Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
Both sides have been crowned Champions of Europe on five occasions, although Barca have lifted this trophy four times since we last won it in 2005 – with their last triumph coming in 2015 – and they also boast the world’s greatest player in Lionel Messi, who is top scorer in this season’s competition with ten goals. They sealed the La Liga title last weekend.
