18/19 Premier League Preview | Matchweek 4 | Leicester (A)
August 30, 2018 Gary Fulcher

Liverpool travel to Leicester for another Saturday Premier League kick off – 12.30pm UK time – before the first international break of the season irritatingly interrupts proceedings. The Reds recorded a 1-0 win over Brighton to make it three consecutive wins at the beginning of the season for just the 4th time in the Premier League era, to add to 1993/94, 1994/95 and 2013/14.

The last Liverpool side to win their opening four league games was the 1990/91 vintage who won their opening eight league games that season but only managed to finish 2nd, five points* adrift of Arsenal, following the resignation of Kenny Dalglish on the morning of February 22nd 1991, with Liverpool three points clear at the top of the table at the time.

*Arsenal were deducted two points that season following a mass group hug/pushing contests between their players and Manchester Utd players. Man Utd were deducted one point for their involvement. The outcome was that group hugs and pushing clearly bring the game into disrepute and will not be tolerated.
