Like many football fans these days I don’t manage to get to too many games. I’ve only sat in the Kop once, and only seen three games at Anfield due to time/money/life constraints. I’ll always remember the chill of singing You’ll Never Walk Alone for the first time on that cold February night before watching Dirk Kuyt nod in from a corner against Sparta Prague, to continue our somewhat less illustrious European campaign that year.
This game, however, would be quite different; I was to sit amongst the Enemy. Again.
It’s rarely fun, sitting amongst the opposition, but often this is the only way I get to see the boys in action, and I really wanted to see this team in person; the football we’ve been playing this year has been awesome and hopefully the best is yet to come! This game might disappoint, with the always present possibility that a (fairly understandable) Champions League hangover might rear its head. Conversely, it might be the opposite; we’ve made it to the final, and that should bring confidence!
