Liverpool Under Klopp and Rodgers – Comparing Five Years of Statistics
February 28, 2018 Andrew Beasley

After a recent look at Liverpool’s ability at provoking opposition defensive errors proved popular, the initial idea here was to conduct a similar analysis over previous seasons. But as the team is performing very well on numerous fronts right now, it made more sense to take a look at a variety of different statistics and analyse what (if any) progress has been made in this campaign.

This article will look at the last five full seasons as well as 2017/18. That will give us the tenures of the last two managers, and five years seems a reasonable sample too. It’s also worth investigating both gaffers, as dullards love to trot out stats about Klopp’s win rate being similar to Rodgers, despite the barrel load of caveats required for such a comparison.
