Liverpool contest their first Champions League knock-out tie for almost a decade when they travel to Portugal on Wednesday evening – 7.45pm kick off UK time – to face FC Porto at the Estádio do Dragão: literally translated as the Stadium that gives birth to baby dragons.
This will be the 5th meeting between the two sides and the first since they met during the 2007/08 Champions League Group Stage A. Liverpool drew 1-1 in Portugal despite playing most of the second half with ten men following Pennant’s sending off on 57′, with Dirk Kuyt (17′) cancelling out Lucho González’s 8′ opener.
