Liverpool see out 2017 with a home match against Leicester City on Saturday – 3pm kick off UK time – before making the 1 hr drive north east to Burnley less than 48 hrs later. Given the physical style of football that both of these teams play, don’t be surprised if Klopp rotates even more heavily than he has been leading up to this point, with the only saving grace being the relatively small distance the squad will have to travel between the two games.
Leicester eliminated Liverpool from the League Cup at the 3rd round stage recording a 2-0 win at the King Power Stadium back in September but Liverpool then recorded a 3-2 win at the same venue in the Premier League just four days later. The Reds have not recorded a league ‘double’ over the Foxes since the 2001/02 campaign when we won 4-1 at Filbert Street and 1-0 at Anfield.
