There’s lots of things to look at from Liverpool’s thumping victory over Hoffenheim to make the Champions League proper, but perhaps the most surprising was the fact we only had 44% of possession, at Anfield.
Was this by design? Because once Hoffenheim had the ball, especially until we were three up and long gone, couldn’t breathe. We harried, hustled and pressed all over. We fizzed passes, and flicks and turns and created chance after chance after chance.
