After almost three long months, football is back! The Reds kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Vicarage Road to face Marco Silva’s Watford on Saturday; 12.30pm kick off UK time. That match is swiftly followed by a trip to Germany to face Hoffenheim on Tuesday evening for the first leg of the Champions League play-off tie, with Liverpool then playing host to Crystal Palace at Anfield on Saturday.
Liverpool have brought in three new players – Mo Salah, Dom Solanke and Andy Robertson – to add to a squad that finished 4th last season and while some supporters focus on the failure to sign Keita and Van Dijk from clubs that are refusing to sell them, Liverpool have a settled squad which should not be underestimated.
Watford have changed their manager and seen a decent turnover in their playing squad since Walter Mazzarri departed at the end of last season, with the Hornets finishing 17th, six points clear of the drop zone.
