Part One by Gary Fulcher.

Liverpool have the opportunity to put right one of our most disappointing defeats of the season when they host Bournemouth on Wednesday evening; 8pm kick off UK time. When the two sides met at The Vitality Stadium/Dean Court back on December 4th, Liverpool were four points behind Chelsea with a game in hand and were unbeaten in 11 matches in the league. When Emre Can put Liverpool 3-1 up after 64 minutes, the Reds were on course to move up to 2nd, reducing the gap to Chelsea to a single point.

30 minutes later and Bournemouth had sealed a remarkable comeback with Nathan Ake scoring a 93rd minute winner for the Cherries. Liverpool suffered a terrible run of form throughout January and February but in some ways, that defeat against Bournemouth laid bare our vulnerabilities that other sides would go on to exploit during out winter struggles.
