After the feast comes the famine. The Reds played nine games in the month of January and Saturday’s trip to Hull City – 3pm kick off UK time – is the first of just three games in the whole of February for Liverpool. There are 15 league games remaining for Jürgen Klopp’s side and with no other distractions – domestic or European – focus can turn 100% to achieving Champions League qualification for next season.
Hull City moved off the bottom of the table following their 0-0 draw at Manchester Utd on Wednesday evening and sit four points behind Swansea in 17th. Since Marco Silva’s appointment on January 5th, the Tigers have won three, drawn, one and lost three, with all three victories coming at the KCOM Stadium. Under Silva’s predecessor Mike Phelan, Hull had recorded just three wins from their 20 Premier League games and despite the Tigers reaching the EFL Cup semi-finals, Phelan was dismissed following the 1-3 defeat to West Brom on January 2nd.
