There are many subscribers on The Tomkins Times whose opinion I value – but perhaps the one subscriber who contributes to such a wide variety of topics, with an incredible breadth of knowledge, and who always retains a strong sense of perspective – is Jeff. His comments on the transfer thread are legendary, and he’s always picking out young starlets from across the world to keep an eye on – he’s been doing it for years.
One comment he made on the recent article looking at Dutch forward Quincy Promes, was this:
Jeff’s quote:
To me if you want to bring in a wide player this transfer window, I would look for a left-sided player such as say Max Meyer or Julian Brandt who Bild says is headed to Liverpool. Blid is not exactly reliable but they do occasionally get things right. My point is given the rumours what Promes would cost I think there are better or more precisely better suited players out there.
It isn’t the first time he’s mentioned Meyer, in fact, searching through his comments the first reference he made to him was over three years ago. As I was incredibly impressed with Promes, I thought I’d take a detailed look at Meyer, and Julian Brandt, another hot prospect from the German production line of impressive attacking talent.
