Liverpool kick off their FA Cup campaign playing host to League Two leaders Plymouth Argyle on Sunday afternoon; 1.30pm kick off UK time. This will be the first meeting in this competition between the two sides and just the 11th competitive fixture overall, with all previous ten matches played in the old Division Two between 1954 and 1962. During this period, Liverpool won five, drew three and lost two against the Pilgrims.
Derek Adams’ side are riding high in League Two in 2nd place, just one point behind leaders Doncaster despite losing their last match at Barnet 1-0.
Plymouth overcame Newport County in Round Two, winning the replay 1-0 after drawing 0-0 at home. They eliminated fellow League Two outfit Mansfield Town in Round One, clinching a 2-1 win at Mansfield. The Pilgrims last reached the 3rd round in 2013/14, losing 2-3 in a replay at home to Port Vale.
