By Gary Fulcher.
It’s been almost 65 years since seven times winners Liverpool last faced four times winners Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup. February 2nd 1952 saw Liverpool record a 2-1 win over Wolves at Anfield, in what was the fifth time the two sides had been drawn against one another in the FA Cup. The Reds will be hoping for a repeat of that last encounter when the two sides clash on Saturday at Anfield; 12.30pm kick off UK time.
All four previous ties prior to the aforementioned meeting at Anfield had been played at Molineux with Wolves winning three and Liverpool one. They last met in the league during the 2011/12 season with Liverpool recording a league double over Wolves, winning 2-1 at Anfield and 3-0 at Molineux.
