It’s mind-boggling to think supporters of all ages form opinions on footballers based on playground logic – but it appears to be the case.
Take two Liverpool first-teamers, Lucas Leiva and Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard is the popular lad, the one everyone wants to be, the cock of the school, the kid with the best pair of Adidas.
And Lucas is the shy one, the pupil who knuckles down and gets on with his work without swaggering around the playground shouting about how good he is.
