The idea of The Tomkins Times is to generate a ’salary’ from my football writing – regular and steady monthly income, rather than rely on the  incredibly unpredictable and stressful nature of book sales to make a living (with bad results heavily affecting that process). Having opted to no longer write for the official Liverpool FC website, this is now the place to read my work.

What was originally a blog has evolved into a very interesting forum. Anyone wishing to join in the debate should be aware of the rules – click here.

You will be automatically billed £3.50 each month, unless you cancel, which you are free to do at any time.

Payment is via Paypal. Just below the Paypal login, there’s a line that says: ”Don’t have a PayPal account? Use your credit card or bank account (where available).” Use this if you do not have a Paypal account.

After signing up, please check your spam folder if your confirmation email does not arrive.

Members will be able to easily and quickly comment on pieces.

Please DO NOT use eCheques unless you want to wait a week for it to clear – only then will Paypal allow your membership to TTT, and that effectively means losing a quarter of your subscription (this is the way Paypal works, not TTT).

• Access to sensible debate on the issues raised, with a number of published authors, high-profile bloggers and non-mainstream media journalists contributing to the discussion; obviously I contribute, too.

• Free PDF eBooks of four of my five most successful titles;

Occasionally, free-to-all pieces will be made available, but subscribers are the only people who can join the debate; also, sections of these articles will be for subscribers only.

Currently, 80% of Subscribers think that the site is ‘excellent value for money’, with the remaining 20% finding it ‘good value for money’; leaving 0% who said it was not good value.

While spreading the word is important, I’d appreciate it if members respect other paying members and not post whole articles on forums. A couple of paragraphs is perfectly fine, however, and those who regularly translate my work into other languages may do so with my permission. Constant posting of entire pieces will lead to a cancellation of your account. Articles marked ‘Free’ are free to all to read and distribute.
