A few updates for subscribers, as the season draws to an end on The Tomkins Times’ inaugural campaign. A busy summer lies in wait…
It has come to my attention that one of football’s most prominent television personalities, in a seriously high-profile position, continually refers to Rafa Benítez as “the fat Spanish waiter” when off camera. Perhaps even more alarmingly, editorial decisions have been made to purposely show Benítez in a bad light, in a way that would definitely not be done with other managers.
This week, just four months into its existence, The Tomkins Times passed 1,000,000 hits. To celebrate this milestone, this is a news bulletin for existing Subscribers, outlining plans for the future of the site, including the introduction of new features and additional content. We want the site to evolve, but never at the expense of quality, and never by chasing cheap hits and enticing the wrong kind of subscriber (i.e. WUMs, trolls, and Tony Cascarino).
The idea of The Tomkins Times is to allow me an independent platform to give my thoughts, no matter how short or long. I am under no pressure to meet any external, editorial or commercial pressures.
