Liverpool resume their Premier League campaign by entertaining Paul Lambert’s Aston Villa on Saturday – 5.30pm kick off UK time – with Liverpool yet to record a victory against a Paul Lambert side at Anfield from three previous attempts. One of those three matches was the corresponding fixture from last season when Liverpool and Villa played out a 2-2 draw.

Moreno v SpursThe Reds secured a 3-0 victory against Spurs at White Hart Lane in what was Brendan Rodgers’ 56th victory in his 100th game in charge of Liverpool in all competitions, moving him alongside Bill Shankly and Rafa Benitez who both picked up 56 victories from their first 100 games in charge of the Reds. The Saturday tea time kick off against Aston Villa at Anfield will be Rodgers’ 80th in the Premier League as Liverpool manager.

Aston Villa are one of only four sides (the other three being Chelsea, Swansea and Arsenal) yet to taste defeat in the Premier League this season, having defeated Stoke away 1-0 on the opening day, drew 0-0 at home with Newcastle and secured a 2-1 victory over Hull City at Villa Park before the international break.
