Before this game, Liverpool had won their previous four meetings with Norwich, a team that have conceded more penalties and more goals in the last fifteen minutes than any other in the league. Furthermore, Liverpool had only lost one of their previous 24 home games against newly-promoted opposition (the Blackpool debacle). In the end, though, they had to settle for a point.
