    West Brom (H) Pre/Post-Match Discussion

The last time Liverpool faced West Brom at the end of the 2008/09 campaign, a goal apiece from Gerrard and Kuyt confirmed relegation for Tony Mowbray’s side and Jamie Carragher was involved in a bit of handbags with Alvaro Arbeloa towards the end of the game.

    In Fairness To Roy

    In Fairness To Roy

Perhaps like a lot of Reds, I’m struggling to come to terms with revised expectations brought about over the past year. In fairness to Roy Hodgson, very little of this is his fault. The club has fallen a long way in a short space of time, and it can be traced back to when the money ran dry. And the job of managing Liverpool FC is one I don’t envy anyone having to undertake.

    Twenty More Reasons…

So we all feel down in the dumps. Me included. Eighteen months ago the club stood on the crest of a wave. Who would have thought that so much could go so wrong so quickly? Imagine being told back then that the club would fall out of the elite Champions League group, lose both Mascherano (probably) and Alonso, that [...]

    Positively Negative, Negatively Positive

Recently I’ve been described by a couple of people on Twitter as the most negative Red they’ve ever encountered. While my disposition isn’t quite as sunny as when I was writing for the club’s official site (which required the omission of criticisms), I’ve always just tried to call it as I see it, based on evidence and analysis, with a bit of gut feeling thrown in.

    Manchester City (A) Pre/Post-Match Discussion

Despite the attacking talent both sides have at their disposal, Man City v Liverpool games are usually tight, drab affairs and recent form and clashes suggest that there will be no deviation from this trend. Both teams opened up the 2010/11 Premier League season with draws and there have been eight draws from the 13 Premier League meetings (at City) to date, with Liverpool coming out victorious on three occasions and City winning just two.

Late Arsenal Woe Ahoy for Roy

An interesting start to life in the Premier League at Liverpool for Roy Hodgson. The new era gets under way with a fair dose of drama, not all of it welcome, but also no little fight.

    Turkish Delight?

With Liverpool due to play Trabzonspor in the Europa League Play Off round, it seems an appropriate time to look back at our previous encounters against Turkish opposition.
