Just signed up to the site today so have been catching up on all the articles - all great stuff. Nice to see a comments section worth reading for a change (and properly typed!).

While I don't like clichés, the one about great teams not losing 2 games back to back does ring true with me, and this run we're on has highlighted the gap between our squad and that of Chelsea's and Man U's. However, I don't think any manager would have built a better squad than Benitez has given the budget etc. he's had to work to. Just hope the owners recognise him for what he is (one of the top 10 managers in the world, in my opinion) and that getting rid now would set us back 5 years.

Looking forward to seeing more of Aquilani tomorrow night...just hope there's still something to play for in a fortnight.

Every true Liverpool supporter should subscribe to this site. I have enjoyed your aticles for some time. My comments on the press echo the above. I have stopped reading the press (supposed boradsheet or otherwise) and simply cannot bear to listen to the innane drivel of ex-pros (some of them sadly ours-latterly Ronie Whelan).

Your voice is a beacon of light in an otherwise insane media world of desperate journalists pedding their peurile nonsense.

As for Ferguson, my own view is that his capacity for indulging in calculated psycholgical behaviour is wildly overstated. More reactionary than psychoanalyst, he appears to be completely above any reciognised law of disrepute, incurring only laughable fines (when compared to his earnings). I have absolutely no faith that the spineless FA will ever ttruly punish him correctly.

I am constantly plagued by 'friends;' asking me how long Benitez will be in a job. My answer is for many years to come.

It is a time to keep our heads, self-belief and to stay strong.

Best wishes to you for a successful site

Great article Paul. My dad gets the telegraph so i do find myself skimming through it over a bowl of cornflakes (Hey, its better than the cereal box....just!) and have come to despise Henry Winter over the last year or so. Words fail me on some of his comments on Rafa and the boys.

He didnt let me down today, he's at it again defying physics by reaching his tongue even further up fergie's arse. Banging on again how much he's done for the cause of st. george! ( and in particular Rooney)

Yeah so what? why should you need to consider that when punishing someone for remarks that were unacceptable and would result in disciplinary for anyone?

He's developing Rooney for united's sake, no one elses, but as a result yeah it may benefit England that's obvious. But lets be honest, as you pointed out, Rooney had already starred in a major tourament and I don't think there was anyone who doubted he was going to turn into a world class player regardless of who his manager was . In my opinion there are still question marks over his temprament anyway but I suppose some people will argue that he'll always have that side to his game untill the day he retires.

But to use it as a reason to waiver any punishment the FA may deem neccessary is unbelievable!

Like you said can you imagine how Fergerson would've reacted to the beachball? But then Henry & co would only of wrote how you can't blame fergie, what manager wouldn't of reacted like that? Benitez didn't,but does he get any recognition? Well we all know the answer to that! He just gets accused of blaming everyone but himself! Please someone explain how that makes any sense?

Also got to mention Jon Champion. Was considerably upbeat following monday but again found myself screaming at the tv not at the players but at commentaters comments that make my blood boil! Or not mentioning the things that should be said!

Beginning to think its an unwritten rule that they have all agreed to that Lucas will not recieve any praise whatsoever!
Its becoming a joke! One incident that sticks in my mind was when Lucas was the filling a Birmingham sandwich but muscled his way out ,streched for the ball and put it straight in Gerrard's path. Gerrard whipped in a pretty average cross (by his standards!) but still it went out for a goal kick and Champion mentions how good a cross it was but nothing about Lucas fighting off two players and giving the ball to Stevie in acres of space!

This is my first post and new member so sorry if i've banged on, got plenty to say!! Cant describe how happy I am to find this place, always look out for your pieces on.tv and It's good to see so many people with similar views on all things LFC related! Ive only touched on journos and commentaters dont get me started on certain football forums on the www!

Keep up the good work!

Andrew Torland - "I think you can add Jonathan Northcroft to your list of arsehole journalists. That piece he did in the Sunday Times a couple of weeks ago was possibly the biggest pile of shite ive ever read."

Spot on. That particular article tipped me over the edge, pitiful 'journalism'. I won't waste my time or money in future

Wonder if Rafa is on here under a pseudonym -:

And Benitez insisted: "I have enough experience to cope. I understand how our club is treated by the pundits in England, and the things that critics say and why.

"Hopefully people who do understand the game will know how difficult it is to manage a team like ours. I hope they can be more respectful and know we are trying to do our job here in a difficult situation.

"We have a lot of confidence in our team, our squad, our staff and especially our fans to understand what we are doing."

One tv series that is worth a look is the Wire, in particular season 5 were the issue of journalism is covered. But its worth watching it all from the beginning.

Just watched Sunday Supplement - couldn't help myself - Matt Lawton spouted the usual shite, (shame on him - I used to quite like him) but surprisingly it was the Man Utd and Chelsea fans Kevin Garside and Rob Beasley who made the most sense - particularly Garside who laid most of the blame against the owners and also went on to say that he hasn't bought into the media frenzy because from the performances he has seen, Liverpool haven't been bad at all!
Wonders will never cease....

Doesn't Des Kelly realise that teams in the Premier League have to play each other twice, each at their own grounds? As for the other Rafa, he's just pissed that his darlings Bayern have gone down the shitter! I'm barely tolerating the Guardian at the moment, if any paper you could point to have an anti-Liverpool agenda (never mind the 'they just want a story' stuff over Rafa) it is them...

Clueless indeed- I was just listening to the Guardian football podcast which is usually pretty good and fun but in this one (Monday's post-Fulham episode) Rafael Honnigstein said as bold as brass that Liverpool have shown NO improvement in the league since Benitez came and also that he can see where Ronnie Whelan is coming from!

Wft?

Stick to reporting on the Bundesliga!
